Come try this Punch Needle Rug Making, this technique that mimics my own process of hand tufting without all the infrastructure. A simple hand-held tool, a backing cloth stretched tight onto a frame and some hand dyed wool, is all you need to catch the bug. I call this Rugmaking for the modern maker, it is simple, fast and addictive. This 2 hour private or semi private workshop teaches you the basics of punch needle and allows time to explore the technique, without the pressure of having to complete a piece. Wool and backing fabric for practice rug making provided, please note there will be no take home projects.
Tools, frames and kits can be purchased on the day.
If you have already learned Punch Needle and are in need of some tuition to kickstart a project , such as drawing up your design onto the cloth and colour selection, you can tailor this timeslot to suit your needs.
Age/ Experience: This workshop is suitable for beginners. Age 10 and under require a participating adult to accompany them. Children under the age of 7 will find this difficult.
